Group X Class Descriptions
These classes are skill based, and participants will learn new activities in a progression style. Instructional classes are indicated on the Group X schedule with an “ * ” and are FREE to current YSU students and Faculty/Staff Andrews members. NEW! Barre Connect is a fusion of ballet, yoga, balance, and strength training, combined to ensure a full body workout!
This class incorporates a variety of exercises geared towards muscular strength, muscular endurance and cardio! The wide range of exercises in this class incorporate HIIT, Tabata, CrossFit and more!
Bowka Punch & Strike
NEW! Using high-intensity, easy to follow moves, this class is designed to push you with combat moves and cardio! This class offers something for everyone!
NEW! Boxing Bootcamp is a high intensity class that incorporates boxing technique, strength training, and cardio. Modifications and challenges are provided for all fitness levels.
Butts N' Guts
Come to this class ready to work. This toning class focuses on abdominal and low back stabilizer muscles along with the glutes and hamstrings. This workout focuses on muscular endurance rather than strength and involves light weights along with higher repetitions.
Kickboxing techniques will be used along with various strength training exercises. This is a moderate to high intensity class with plenty of modifications and variation for all fitness levels.
High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) is meant to push you to your limits with a mix of cardio and resistance training. All fitness levels are welcome, but come prepared to work hard and get in shape!
This full body workout will shape and tone, increase core strength, burn calories and improve bone health, This class will leave you feeling challenged and motivated.
This is a workout that combines high intensity interval training and fast pace aerobic activity. This class helps boost your metabolism, build muscle and lose weight. This format is meant to challenge and even test the fittest individual.
This class focuses on alignment, meditation and synchronizing breath to body postures. Come learn the foundational poses utilized in yoga and leave with increased body awareness
The SPINNING program is the original indoor cycling class which connects body, mind and spirit in an energizing session. SPINNING blends cycling techniques, sound training principles and coaching to build mental and physical strength and increase endurance. The intensity of the class is regulated by the participant, so first time riders and highly trained athletes can all get excellent workouts in the same class.
Come to this class to start your day! Focusing on a variety of poses and breathing techniques, this class is geared towards those new to yoga and yogis alike! You will leave this class feeling energized and ready to face the day!

ZUMBA is a fusion of Latin and international music and dance themes that create a dynamic, exciting, effective class! Classes feature interval training with a combination of fast and slow rhythms. Zumba utilizes interval and resistance training to maximize caloric output, fat burning and total body toning. It is a mixture of body sculpting movements with easy-to-follow dance steps.
