On behalf of the faculty and staff, welcome to Youngstown State University! We look forward to meeting you when you arrive in Youngstown. If you have any questions about arrival in Youngstown or Orientation, please email us at email@example.com.
The YSU International Programs Office (IPO) has developed an orientation program designed to ease your transition to the U.S. and to YSU in particular. International Student Orientation is required for all incoming international students. Moreover, orientation allows you enough time to find housing, familiarize yourself with your department, complete YSU enrollment procedures, and meet other students and community members before classes begin. Graduate students should contact their academic department to see if there is a need for them to arrive earlier to meet with the faculty members (especially if you are a Graduate Assistant).
When you arrive in Youngstown please visit the International Programs Office (IPO) in Jones Hall, Room 1042 for updated information on check-in and orientation times. Check-in will be conducted on the day of orientation. You must bring your admissions letter to Youngstown State University, passport, I-20 or DS-2019 (I-20 or DS2019 from your previous institution you attended if a transfer student) and I-94 (this is either the white card in your passport or you must print out a copy from U.S. Customs and Border Protection) with you. We will copy your documents and answer your questions about housing, registration, etc. If you have brought dependent family members with you, you must also bring their documents with you when you come to orientation.
