The purpose of the Sam’s Club Direct Card is to provide access to quantity purchases, tax exempt, when conducting University business.
HOW TO RESERVE THE SAM’S CLUB CARD:
- Before the card can be reserved by the department, a YSU purchase order must be generated to Sam’s Club for the anticipated purchases and taken with you at the time of purchase. This will be recorded and used as reference for payment.
- To check on availability and to reserve the card, contact Procurement Services at x3163, located in Room 2013, Jones Hall.
- At the checkout line, provide the cashier with the purchase order number, which will be indicated on the receipt.
- Departments must submit the original itemized receipt and reference the purchase order number to Accounts Payable when returning the Sam’s Club Card promptly to the department.
Sam’s Club does not accept the YSU commercial card. All purchases are to be done via an official University purchase order.
Purchases using YSU Sam’s Club Direct Card can only be made at the South Avenue store location in Boardman. The card is not valid at the Niles location.
If a department wishes to use the Sam’s Club card on a frequent basis, a membership card can be issued to the individual within the department. A $15 annual membership fee is assessed. Contact the Director of Procurement Services for instructions on how to obtain one.
*** NOTE: If sales tax was charged on a store receipt, it is the responsibility of the purchaser to return to the store to have a credit issued. ****
