Who is eligible to use the Rec Center?
STUDENTS:
YSU students – Current, general fee assessed Youngstown State University students (unless removed due to academic or conduct related misconduct) may use the facilities and services without paying an additional membership fee.
VALID YSU ID must be provided for facility access.
Students must be registered in a "for credit" class for the current semester.
Students in College Credit Plus (CCP), English Language Institute (ELI), Youngstown Early College (YEC), or enrolled in the Police Officer Training Academy may require additional waiver forms.
CCP Students (Enrolled in current semester) - College Credit Plus students must fill out a waiver with parent’s signature (if under 18). Waivers must be brought to the Campus Rec administration office (hours of operation) with a driver’s license and YSU ID (vertical YSU ID with photo). Waivers can be found here*. Waivers are on file for fall, spring, and summer semesters. New waivers will be needed every fall semester.
YEC Students- Youngstown Early College students whom have been approved by the YEC Program are able to use the Rec Center.
Fall semester students gain access the Sunday prior to the first day of classes for fall semester through the final Friday of the fall semester.
Spring semester students gain access the Sunday prior to the first day of classes for spring semester through the final Friday of the spring semester
Summer semester students gain access the first Monday of classes for summer semester through the final Friday of the summer summer semester
An ID presented by someone other than the rightful owner will be confiscated. Campus Recreation staff, along with Campus Police, reserve the right to request additional identification at any time. Refusal to provide identification will result in disciplinary action and/or referral to University Student Conduct.
FACULTY, STAFF, RETIREES, OR YSU FOUNDATION EMPLOYEES:
YSU Faculty Memberships: ($100) This category is available to all Youngstown State full and part-time faculty. Employment status must be current at the time of purchase. Faculty employees who are also students qualify for student rates.
YSU Staff Membership: ($100) This category is available to all Youngstown full and part-time staff. Employment status must be current at the time of purchase. Staff employees who are also students qualify for student rates.
YSU Foundation Membership: ($100) This category is available to YSU Foundation employees. Employment status must be current at the time of purchase.
YSU Retirees: ($100) This category is available to retired faculty and staff of Youngstown State University. Parking is not included. Please contact Parking Services at (330) 941-3546 for parking pass information.

Payroll deduction (3 payments of $25, and $25 due at purchase). Payroll deduction is offered year round for 12-month employees. Nine-month employees can use payroll deduction during the months of August through March. Expanded members are eligible for payroll deduction under the same terms. An additional $25 payment must be made at time of purchase and three remaining payments for the expanded membership will be deducted through the sponsor’s payroll in three consecutive pays once the paperwork has been submitted and processing is completed. The sponsor must accompany the expanded member if you choose payroll deduction. Retirees, YSU Foundation employees, Occasional Service, Intermittents and their sponsored expanded members are not eligible for payroll deduction. Failure to provide funds through payroll deduction will result in immediate termination of membership.
The Department of Campus Recreation and the Andrews Student Recreation and Wellness Center offers a Faculty/Staff/Retirees/Youngstown Foundation Expanded Membership Program. The program is to accommodate spouses and dependent children 18 years through 25 years of age that live in a common household.
Members of the bargaining unit and retired bargaining unit members shall have access to the Andrews Recreation and Wellness Center during normal operating hours. The continuous interaction between these groups and students, faculty and staff contribute to the overall retention and growth of YSU students as well as support the mission of the Division of Student Experience. YSU Alumni (degree completion required) will be able to purchase a non-prime time membership to Andrews Student Recreation and Wellness Center at a rate of $150 per year. YSU Alumni maintain an active, ongoing engagement with the Youngstown State University community beyond graduation, which supports the mission of the Division of Student Experience.

Alumni applicants must provide a State Photo ID that includes name and address when purchasing an Alumni Rec Center membership. Members must purchase or renew Alumni Rec Center memberships in person at Andrews Student Recreation and Wellness Center during regular business hours (hours of operation).
Campus Recreation memberships may not be purchased or renewed over the phone. Memberships must be purchased in full (no installments), and memberships are non-refundable and nontransferable.
Alumni Rec Center memberships will be verified upon purchase.
All members must adhere to the Department of Campus Recreation Policies and Procedures.
Campus Recreation will create the Rec Center alumni member ID card that will be used to enter Andrews. ID cards will be processed within 48 hours and are required for access.
The Alumni membership program is for limited or restricted access to the facility and programs. The non-prime time nature of the memberships gives members access to the facility during nonpeak times.

Hours of operation and programs offered are developed around the university calendar and current student needs. While actual starting dates and lengths of semesters and breaks vary each year, semesters start in January, May and August.
The Andrews Student Recreation and Wellness Center will be closed for two weeks (one in December and one in August) annually for maintenance and cleaning. Please check our Hours of Operation for complete facility hours. Memberships will not be extended or refunded due to these closures. Andrews is also closed for University Holidays and follows university policy for inclement weather adjustments. See website for details.
PROGRAM DISCONTINUATION/CANCELLATION: Alumni membership offerings are reviewed yearly. These memberships are sold on a first come/first served based with a limit of 2,500 total alumni members. Campus Recreation reserves the right to reassess or discontinue the program based on utilization numbers, if needed. The program will be discontinued only after individual membership obligations have been fulfilled.
CHILDREN:
Individuals under the age of 18 are not permitted to use the facility unless they are active in a Department of Campus Recreation approved program. Individuals under 18 years of age are not permitted in the free weight area. (Minors [under the age of 18] are not permitted to be left unattended in any area of the Andrews Student Recreation and Wellness Center unless attending a Department of Campus Recreation program. Violators of this policy and the identified minor(s) will be required to leave the facility upon request of any Campus Recreation staff member. The identified student, faculty/staff member in violation of this policy will be subject to suspension of membership privileges and/or university disciplinary actions.)
LOST YSU ID:
A photo ID, such as a driver’s license or a state ID, must be presented in order to use the One Time Forgotten ID pass in order to gain access into the facility – NO EXCEPTIONS. The use of the One Time Forgotten ID pass is limited to (1) per academic semester.
OTHER INSTITUTION STUDENT MEMBERSHIPS
Campus Recreation would like to invite college students from other universities to join Andrews Student Recreation & Wellness Center during summer and winter break. Students can bring a current university ID from another institution to qualify for this membership

IMPORTANT REMINDERS FOR ALL MEMBERS REGARDING USAGE OF THE RECCENTER:
You MUST present your YSU ID in order to gain access to Andrews.
Proper athletic attire must be worn while using the facility.
If it is your first-time using the facility, please feel free to request a tour and/or a new-user orientation offered by trained campus recreation student employees.
Our lockers are for daily use only and locks are available at equipment issue. Lockers can also be rented per semester or annually.
Don’t forget to check out the Group X programs that are available throughout the week at no additional charge. The Andrew Student Recreation and Wellness Center also offers personal training by certified trainers (fees apply).
IV. EXPANDED MEMBERSHIP INFORMATION: (THE MEMBERSHIP FEE FOR ADDITIONAL EXPANDED MEMBERS WILL BE $100.00 PER FAMILY member.)
THE PROCESS (PLEASE READ)
The sponsoring Faculty/Staff/Retirees/YSU Foundation employee member must have a current membership when enrollment of the expanded member occurs. Also, they must accompany those eligible for the expanded membership program throughout the initial application process. They do not need to be present for renewals.
The applicant must provide a state-issued photo ID that includes name, address (residence must be the same as the Faculty/Staff/Retirees/YSU Foundation member) and date of birth (to verify residency and age of applicant).
Faculty/Staff/Retirees/YSU Foundation employee sponsor must provide a valid YSU ID and a state-issued photo id to verify name/residence.
All members must adhere to the department of Campus Recreation policies and procedures.
Personal training is available at Faculty/Staff rate.

First time membership purchases are only available during open office hours. (hours of operation).
