Under the provisions of the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act, the University is licensed by the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency as a large quantity generator of hazardous waste. Under separate licenses, EOHS operates two hazardous waste storage sites. The facility in Ward Beecher Science Hall services the central campus. This facility is located in the Chemical Management Center. The second site, located at the Facilities Maintenance Department, handles all hazardous waste generated by that department.
All hazardous waste is categorized, segregated, properly packaged and labeled, and shipped off site by an approved hazardous waste hauler. EOHS uses a "cradle-to-grave" concept and tracks the waste from the time it leaves campus until it reaches its point of final disposition to assure that all University-generated hazardous waste is being disposed of in accordance with applicable environmental laws.
Please label ALL waste CONTAINERS PROPERLY
